Job Description

 

We are looking to hire a hard-working, customer-oriented Showroom and Warehouse Assistant to ensure the smooth running of in-store retail operations. The role is primarily based in our retail showroom assisting customers with their enquiries, with a small amount of the work based in our warehouse tidying and assisting with deliveries.

 

The Showroom and Warehouse Assistant’s responsibilities include welcoming customers to our carpet and flooring showroom, answering telephone calls, assisting customers with enquiries, arranging showroom displays accordingly, and receiving warehouse deliveries.

 

You should also be able to identify customers' needs and recommend suitable showroom items that best satisfy their requirements.

 

To be successful as a Showroom and Warehouse Assistant, you should be well-organized and adept at using a computer and have a friendly manner. Ultimately, an outstanding Showroom and Warehouse Assistant should demonstrate effective communication skills and achieve exceptional customer service at all times.

 

Shift Days and Times:

 

We are looking for candidates who are available to work 5 hour shifts per week across Monday to Friday with an earliest shift start time of 8am and a latest shift finish time of 6pm. There may be a requirement to work Saturdays in the future.

 

We are looking for somebody to work 35 to 40 hours per week, depending on experience and subject to business requirements.

 

Trial Period:

 

To begin with, the successful applicant will work a 4 week trial period.

 

Showroom and Warehouse Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Receiving, processing, and organizing shipments and deliveries accordingly.

  • Restocking depleted or low showroom items and ensuring that the sales floor is organized according to established guidelines.

  • Assisting customers locating desired showroom items.

  • Informing customers of showroom promotions to encourage purchases.

  • Performing regular price audits to identify and correct price discrepancies.

  • Performing regular touch point cleaning, and end-of-day cleaning duties, which includes wiping down windows, mirrors, and fixtures as well as hoovering the showroom floor.

  • Addressing and resolving customers complaints in a professional manner.

  • Processing customer payments using the showroom's Point of Sale (POS) system.

  • Entering customer enquiries into customer database system.

  • Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of store items to provide advice and recommendations as needed.

 

Showroom and Warehouse Assistant Requirements:

 

Essential:

  • Minimum 2 years retail sales experience.

  • The ability to stand for extended periods.

  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Exceptional customer service skills.

  • Detail-oriented.

  • Good numeracy skills.

  • Able to use own initiative.

  • Successful applicant must be dog friendly.

 

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in a warehouse.

  • Knowledge of carpet and flooring product types.

  • Experience in using a customer database system.

  • The ability to use labelling and pricing equipment as well as Point of Sale (POS) software.

  • The ability to lift 25kg items within safe manual handling guidelines.

 

Salary & Holiday:

 

18 - 20 years old: £7.50 per hour

21 - 22 years old: £8.50 per hour

23 years old and over: £9.00 per hour

28 days paid holiday per year including bank and public holiday allowance

 

Start Date:

 

We are looking from somebody to start ASAP.
