Pre-Arrival Customer Fitting Service Checklist

We have now sent you an email to confirm your fitting date.

Please can you answer the following questions so that we can make sure that we have a record of all of your requirements. This will mean that our fitter will be fully prepared on the day and your installation will run smoothly.

1. Personal Details

As detailed in our site visit, quotation and invoice (if applicable), our fitting service charge is for the installation of all flooring materials purchased from Kings Carpets and Flooring.

Additional services can sometimes be arranged and invoiced for, but we request advance notice of this. These services are:

  • Door Trimming

  • Furniture removal and replacing

  • White goods/appliances removal and replacing

  • Old/current carpet and/or flooring uplift, removal and/or disposal

Please also ensure that if the area(s) having new flooring fitted have been decorated, they have had sufficient time to dry before our fitter(s) arrive.

Please can you confirm your status regarding these services.

2. Door Trimming

Depending on the flooring product that you have fitted, this can affect the clearance under your doors resulting in the doors requiring trimming. Door trimming is not included in the flooring installation fee, and can require additional tools to those normally carried by our fitters. We would recommend in the first instance that you have door trimming carried out by a specialist carpenter/joiner.

You may not know if your door(s) require trimming until the new flooring has been installed.

If it transpires that your door(s) require trimming, our fitter(s) may be able to provide you with a costing for this and you will need to pay the fitter(s) on the day.

However, please note that we cannot guarantee that on the day your fitter(s) will be able to carry this out for you.

3. Furniture

The area(s) that you are having your new flooring installed will need to be clear of all furniture when the fitter(s) arrive.

We can offer a costing for furniture moving. Our fitter(s) are able to move empty pieces of furniture such as wardrobes, book cases etc., subject to how much they weigh. However, our fitters are not able to move any personal items or electrical goods.

If you would like our fitter(s) to remove furniture on arrival and replace after fitting for you, we can send you a costing for this and you will need to pay the fitter(s) on the day.

Please note that whilst we will do our very best to ensure that items are moved as carefully as possible, Kings Carpets and Flooring and our fitter(s) cannot be held responsible for any damages caused during the moving of furniture.

4. White Goods/Appliances

The area(s) that you are having your new flooring installed will also need to be clear of all white goods/appliances when the fitter(s) arrive. We would always recommend that you arrange for this to be done yourself.

We can offer a costing for moving white goods and appliances. Our fitter(s) are able to move white goods/appliances subject to how much they weigh. However, our fitters are not able to disconnect or reconnect any white goods, and we would recommend that you have this done by a trained electrician and/or plumber.

If you would like our fitter(s) to move white goods/appliances on arrival (but they must already be disconnected) and replace after fitting for you (but somebody else will need to reconnect them), we can send you a costing for this and you will need to pay the fitter(s) on the day.

Please note that whilst we will do our very best to ensure that items are moved as carefully as possible, Kings Carpets and Flooring and our fitter(s) cannot be held responsible for any damages caused during the moving of white goods/appliances.

5. Uplift, Removal and Disposal

The areas that you are having your new flooring installed will need to have the old flooring uplifted (unless being installed on a new sub-floor), along with old underlay and/or gripper if you have ordered new, before the new flooring can be installed.

We can also offer a costing for this, and/or for the removal and disposal of the old items if you are not able to do this yourself.

If you would like our fitter(s) to uplift your old/current flooring on arrival and dispose of after fitting the new flooring for you, we can send you an invoice for this and you will need to pay for this in advance.

6. Fitting Date and Time

The email that you received from us contained a fitting date.

We are unable at this stage to commit to a specific time on your agreed fitting date; the works will be carried out between the normal working hours of 8am and 5pm.

The fitter(s) will endeavour to contact you between 8am and 9am on your fitting date to give you an estimated time of arrival, but this will only be an estimate as they may be delayed due to circumstances outside of their control.

We will of course our very best to keep to the advised arrival time on the agreed fitting date. However, Kings Carpets and Flooring and your allocated fitter cannot be held liable for any expenses incurred, or loss of income, arising from missed or late appointments.
